EDUECE's Focus Group Testing
Students' remarks:

"The goal of most games is to win, but the goal of EDUECE® is to get to know each other."

"It was really cool.  I wish I could play again."

"It was great to share what I felt, and you can't do that all of the time."

"It's great!"
"I love it!"

"You can’t just start talking to people and say what you feel.  Playing this game once in a while lets people know what’s going on."

"EDUECE® is a positive way to express yourself and your feelings to others and it’s fun!"
Applications of EDUECE® with groups of 3rd grade students from general education settings, including those with learning disabilities, and K- 5th grade students from a special education setting showed promise of the game’s provision of benefits, namely:

Promoting
  • Social interaction and community building
  • Positive communication abilities
  • Emotional expression and understanding

"This game is an outstanding product that would be a tremendous asset to special educators ... The commencement of the distribution of this game will provide a number of invaluable benefits to the community.  The game will not only teach emotional vocabulary, but will also contribute to the social connection of the students."  --- Executive Director, K - 12 State-Approved Special Education School
The next steps include continuing to study the efficacy of EDUECE® in helping those with typical development, along with those with communication, emotional/behavioral, learning, and developmental disorders, given their need to attain these vital life skills.
